Constellation Carousel

The Attraction Overview

Constellation Carousel is the centerpiece flat ride of Celestial Park, Epic Universe's central hub land. It reimagines the classic carousel as a three-tier, multi-axis spinning machine, with an outer ring of two-passenger chariots — each shaped like a mythological creature such as a phoenix, pegasus, or sea serpent — that can independently rise up to six feet and rotate a full 360 degrees as the whole platform turns.

Overhead, a massive domed canopy called the Star Tracker projects shifting constellation patterns and a swirling effect nicknamed 'the Mesmerizer' onto the ceiling, syncing light and motion with an original orchestral score. Riders can choose a calmer stationary bench or a fully spinning chariot, making it one of the few Epic Universe attractions genuinely built for all ages and comfort levels in the same ride cycle.

The Story

Constellation Carousel opened with the rest of Epic Universe on May 22, 2025. It was manufactured by Mack Rides, the German firm also behind several of the park's coasters, and represents one of the most mechanically complex carousels ever built, with independently actuated spinning and lifting chariots layered onto a traditional rotating base.

Before the Clock Strikes

  • Ride it early or after dark — daytime lines build fast since it looks tame but is genuinely popular with photographers and families, and it has no single-rider line to speed things up.
  • There's no minimum height, so it's one of the best options in the park for very young children or grandparents who want to be part of the Celestial Park experience without a thrill component.
  • Choose an outer spinning chariot for a surprisingly dynamic ride, or a center bench if you're riding with someone prone to motion sickness — the difference in intensity is significant.
  • Comparable in spirit to Disney's Prince Charming Regal Carrousel but far more mechanically active — think of it as a carousel crossed with a teacup ride, and budget it as an evening-photo stop as much as a ride.
