The Attraction Overview
Race Through New York Starring Jimmy Fallon puts guests in a flying-theater style simulator racing Fallon through an exaggerated version of New York City, soaring past landmarks like the Statue of Liberty and the Empire State Building. The queue itself recreates the halls and studio of Late Night, packed with easter eggs for talk-show fans.
Its signature touch is the involvement of Jimmy Fallon and The Roots throughout the pre-show and ride footage, giving the attraction a comedic, celebrity-driven tone that's more playful than intense compared to the park's other simulators.
The Story
The ride opened on April 6, 2017, in the New York section of the park, taking over the space and building previously used for Twister...Ride It Out. It was built in partnership with NBC and Jimmy Fallon's production team.
Before the Clock Strikes
- This ride tends to draw shorter lines than the park's coasters, making it a solid midday or rainy-day option.
- The comedic tone and moderate motion make it a good fit for guests who want simulator thrills without the intensity of Transformers or Despicable Me.
- Watch for detailed sight gags throughout the queue — allow a few extra minutes to take in the Late Night set recreation if the wait is short.
- Compared to Transformers: The Ride 3D, this attraction leans more comedic and family-friendly, while Transformers is faster-paced and more action-oriented.
