Stardust Racers
The Attraction Overview
Stardust Racers is a Mack Rides-built dueling coaster with two nearly identical 5,000-foot tracks — Photon (yellow) and Pulsar (green) — each reaching 133 feet tall and 62 mph via multiple linear synchronous motor launches. Each track carries its own inversion (Photon a barrel-roll downdrop, Pulsar a zero-g roll), and the signature 'Celestial Spin' element brings the two trains together mid-air during those inversions for a near-miss crossing as riders swap visual positions with the opposite train.
Unlike most Epic Universe headliners, Stardust Racers isn't based on a film or game franchise — it's an original concept tied to Celestial Park's astrology-and-cosmos theming, with trains lit to resemble comets streaking through the night.
The Story
The ride was first announced in January 2024 under the working name 'Starfall Racers,' then renamed 'Stardust Racers' in May 2024 due to a trademark conflict. As with all Epic Universe attractions, it has no predecessor.
It opened May 22, 2025 and won Amusement Today's Golden Ticket Award for Best New Roller Coaster that year, also placing among the top steel coasters worldwide in that year's rankings.
Before the Clock Strikes
- A single-rider line is often available and can cut waits dramatically, though you can't request a specific row.
- For airtime, the front row is recommended; for the Celestial Spin, middle-to-back rows are often cited for extra 'hang time.'
- Universal Express Pass is accepted.
- Photon and Pulsar run as separate queues and trains — riding both sides gives a different experience of the dueling element.
