Disney has released the first look inside the rooms at Disney's Lakeshore Lodge, and unlike most concept-art drops, this one comes with the numbers attached: 967 rooms, ten room categories, a confirmed opening date of 1 July 2027, and three booking dates in October.

The resort is going up on the south shores of Bay Lake, on the site of River Country — Walt Disney World's long-abandoned water park. It is a Disney Vacation Club property, and it is the first brand-new resort in the Magic Kingdom Resort Area since Disney's Wilderness Lodge opened in 1994. Thirty-three years is a long gap, which is most of why this one matters beyond the usual new-hotel noise.
The rooms, and who actually fits in them
Disney published sleeping capacities for every category, which is the detail that decides whether a resort works for your party.

Duo Studio — sleeps 2
Resort Studio King — sleeps 2
Deluxe Studio — sleeps 4
Resort Studio — sleeps 4
One-Bedroom Villa — sleeps 5
One-Bedroom Lake House — sleeps 5
Hidden Willow Presidential Suite — sleeps 6
Two-Bedroom Lake House — sleeps 8
Two-Bedroom Villa — sleeps 9
Three-Bedroom Grand Villa — sleeps 12

The Lake Houses are the genuinely new idea here — waterfront units in one- and two-bedroom sizes, which is not a room category that exists elsewhere on property in this form.
The theming is animation, not a lodge pastiche
Each category is tied to a specific Disney Animation film rather than a generic wilderness treatment. Duo Studios take from Encanto. Deluxe Studios and the one- and two-bedroom villas draw on Bambi, with what Disney describes as warm natural materials and original concept artwork pulled from the archives. The three-bedroom Grand Villas are built around Fantasia.

Disney's own summary of the design language: natural materials, earthy colour palettes, and original artwork from classic Disney films.
The one- and two-bedroom villas carry full kitchens, washers and dryers, and private patios.

The dates that actually matter
Bookings open in three waves: 6 October for Disney Vacation Club members, 7 October for Walt Disney World Annual Passholders, and 8 October for the general public.
If you are not a DVC member or a passholder, you are looking at third pick on a 967-room resort opening nine months later. For a first-summer opening date — 1 July lands squarely in peak season — that gap is worth planning around rather than discovering on the day.

What we don't know yet
No prices. Disney has not published nightly rates or Disney Vacation Club point charts, and we are not going to estimate them for you — a made-up number is worse than no number when you are budgeting a trip two years out.
We will update this page when rates are published.
