Ask what hotels are opening at Walt Disney World and you will get a long answer full of maybes. The honest version is short.
One new Disney World hotel has a confirmed opening date: Disney's Lakeshore Lodge, 1 July 2027. That is it. Everything else you have read about future Disney World hotels is either a rumour, a permit filing, or a project Disney has acknowledged without dating.
What's actually locked
Disney's Lakeshore Lodge opens 1 July 2027. A 967-room Disney Vacation Club resort on the south shores of Bay Lake, on the old River Country site.
Ten room categories run from a two-person Duo Studio up to a twelve-person three-bedroom Grand Villa, plus waterfront Lake Houses sleeping five and eight.
Bookings open 6 October for Disney Vacation Club members, 7 October for Annual Passholders, and 8 October for everyone else.
It is the first brand-new resort in the Magic Kingdom Resort Area since Wilderness Lodge in 1994.
Why 'only one' is the useful fact
A single dated opening changes how you plan. There is no second new resort arriving to absorb demand in 2027, which means the October booking window is the event, not the July opening — third-tier access on a 967-room resort in its first summer is a real constraint.
It also means the existing Magic Kingdom-area resorts do not get relief. If you were waiting for new inventory to loosen availability at the Contemporary, the Polynesian or Wilderness Lodge, it is not coming before mid-2027.
And anything else you see with a date next to it is someone's guess. Disney has not published opening dates for other hotel projects.
What we're not going to do
We are not going to list six coming-soon resorts with invented years beside them. When Disney dates another hotel, this page gets updated and the date gets a source.
