Corn Dog Nuggets
Inspired by Casey's Corner, Magic Kingdom
Bite-sized corn dogs with a thick, sweet cornbread coating — the Casey's Corner order that never leaves the menu.
Ingredients
- 8 hot dogs, cut into thirds
- 1 cup cornmeal
- 1 cup flour
- 1/4 cup sugar
- 1 tbsp baking powder
- 1 egg
- 1 1/4 cups buttermilk
- Oil, for frying
Method
- Whisk the cornmeal, flour, sugar, and baking powder, then stir in the egg and buttermilk to make a thick batter.
- Pat the hot dog pieces dry and dip each fully in the batter.
- Fry in 350°F oil in batches until deep golden, about 3 minutes.
- Drain on paper towels and serve hot with ketchup and plenty of mustard.
