Gaston's Cinnamon Roll
Inspired by Gaston's Tavern, Magic Kingdom
No one bakes cinnamon rolls this big — that's the whole point. A dinner-plate-sized roll drenched in cream cheese glaze.
Ingredients
- 4 cups flour
- 1/4 cup sugar
- 1 packet active dry yeast
- 1 cup warm milk
- 1/3 cup melted butter
- 2 eggs
- 1 tsp salt
- 1 cup brown sugar, for filling
- 2 tbsp cinnamon, for filling
- 1/2 cup softened butter, for filling
- 4 oz cream cheese
- 2 cups powdered sugar
- 1/4 cup milk, for glaze
Method
- Mix the flour, sugar, and yeast, then add the warm milk, melted butter, eggs, and salt to form a soft dough.
- Knead until smooth and let rise 1 hour.
- Roll the dough into a large rectangle, spread with softened butter, and cover with brown sugar and cinnamon.
- Roll tightly into a log and slice into 8 thick rolls — go big, this one's supposed to be oversized.
- Let rise 30 minutes, then bake at 350°F for 25-30 minutes.
- Whisk the cream cheese, powdered sugar, and milk into a glaze and pour generously over the warm rolls.
