The Resort Overview
Opened December 20, 1991, Old Key West was Disney's very first Disney Vacation Club property, with low-rise villa buildings styled after the pastel clapboard architecture of the Florida Keys, set among sprawling grounds along Village Lake.
Its most distinctive feature is room size — Old Key West's villas, including its Grand Villas, are among the largest standard villas of any Disney Vacation Club resort at Walt Disney World.
Dining & Amenities
Olivia's Cafe is the resort's table-service restaurant, serving Key West-inspired comfort food with a devoted following for its bread pudding. Good's Food to Go covers quick-service meals.
The main Sandcastle Pool sits near the Hospitality House with a waterslide built into a giant sandcastle structure, while three additional quiet leisure pools are spread across the property.

Booking Strategy
- The resort is spread out, so request a building near Hospitality House if you want to be close to the main pool and dining.
- Because rooms and villas are unusually large, it's an excellent value for families or multi-generational groups.
- Old Key West is often called Disney's most underrated resort — expect a quieter atmosphere rather than a lively pool scene.
- The boat ride to Disney Springs is one of the most pleasant water-taxi routes on property.
