Holidays at Universal Orlando Resort
Event Overview
Universal Orlando's holiday season is a destination-wide, admission-included celebration spanning mid-November through the New Year, layering festive décor, entertainment, and food across Universal Studios Florida, Islands of Adventure, and Epic Universe.
Its two signature elements are Christmas in The Wizarding World of Harry Potter — centered on 'The Magic of Christmas at Hogwarts Castle,' a projection-mapping show on Hogwarts Castle in Hogsmeade — and Grinchmas in Seuss Landing, headlined by a live stage retelling of How the Grinch Stole Christmas.
Highlights
- 'The Magic of Christmas at Hogwarts Castle,' an approximately 8-minute projection-mapping show playing intermittently from dusk to close nightly in Hogsmeade
- Diagon Alley (Universal Studios Florida) and Hogsmeade (Islands of Adventure) both receive festive holiday décor and themed food/beverage
- The Grinchmas Who-liday Spectacular, a live stage show in Seuss Landing retelling How the Grinch Stole Christmas
- Universal's Holiday Parade featuring Macy's, with Macy's Thanksgiving Day Parade-style balloons and floats
- Epic Universe joins the celebration with new holiday decorations in Celestial Park and around Ministry of Magic
- New Year's Eve celebrations across the theme parks and CityWalk on December 31
Planning Tips
- Watch 'The Magic of Christmas at Hogwarts Castle' from the Hogsmeade bridge or near the Owlery for an unobstructed castle view — it fills in fast on weekend nights.
- Visit on a weeknight in late November or early December for the lightest crowds.
- Since everything is included with admission, plan touring around show times rather than treating it as a separate ticketed event.
- Check both Hogsmeade and Diagon Alley — the two Wizarding World lands have distinct holiday décor and require a park-to-park ticket to see both in one day.
